Don’t.

@kittywifclaws I own such a device.

And yes: don't.

@gilesforyou now I have to ask what do you use this device for? Just a collector or?

@kittywifclaws Of my parents' three children, I was the one who expressed interest in purchasing the home I grew up in.

My folks left behind maybe 90% of the contents. This was mostly a boon—I liked the furniture, and didn't have to do much decorating.

It also meant I got stuck with items such as that antique car horn.

@gilesforyou all the stuff and all those gems. I had a similar experience with a farm and was always finding interesting things, but there was so much. Did you find anything cool you didn’t know was there?
@kittywifclaws The least-likely item was a light-meter for celluloid photography. A long-time friend was visiting, and snapping photos was a hobby of his, and he remarked how he had to "fake it", reading light levels, with a smart-phone app. I knew there was some general "camera stuff" in a bureau in the Living Room. To my modest surprise, the exact tool he desired was amongst the old cameras.
@gilesforyou not only cool but useful! I’d have been overjoyed to dig around in a drawer like that. You sound like a good friend too

@kittywifclaws Thank you, Kat.

I've been blessed with so many doo-dads, I am happy when I can usefully part with any of them.
