I have been an aunt since I was ten years old and a great aunt for long time. At one point I was a pregnant great aunt which everyone agreed was weird. Great aunts are not supposed to be pregnant- they're supposed to be elderly and do nothing much more than hand out butterscotch candies.

@OldAndCranky It’s not so odd. I had a first cousin once removed who was two years older than I was. (She passed away when she was 50, unfortunately.) She was the younger child of my grandmother’s youngest sibling.

The guy who played General Shaeffer on I Dream of Jeannie was Rita Hayworth’s uncle, despite their similar ages.

@OldAndCranky He was her mother’s brother. Thus the shared name ‘Hayworth’ (given that Rita switched from her father’s name Cansino to her mother’s name Hayworth, though she’s still Rita Cansino in early movies).

@OldAndCranky My father’s mother had a half brother who was older than her mother. And her mother was 39 years old when my grandmother was born. :)

Okay, that’s unusual. My great grandfather was a Civil War veteran.

@OldAndCranky (AFAIK no participation in battles.)
