I love that it’s like everyone coming into a bar to escape a snowstorm here right now.
Me: I’m currently escaping building the new bbq because it’s taking so long it’s getting on my wick.
The bbq is finally built. Only broke one nail which seems a fair trade *shrugs*
@kazzydoodah now for steak and sausage!
@Detr1tu5 apparently I need to get sand for the drip tray! I’ve never put sand in a drip tray before, but it’s an Outback and I believe Aussies know what they’re talking about when it comes to outdoor cooking so I’m going to obey the instructions.
@kazzydoodah This is new. Ours has a drip tray. I just empty it and wash it. Sand may be a fire prevention thing. Hot fat and all that but I’ve never seen it here.
@Detr1tu5 Our last Outback lasted nearly 18 years and I used to scrape the tray out into a carrier bag with a wallpaper scraper, but the instructions on the tray on this one say to line it with foil and 6mm of sand. If it lasts half as long as the other one did, I’ll be pleased so I’ll do what they tell me.
@kazzydoodah good plan. They are good at the outdoor cooking stuff here.
@Detr1tu5 they know their stuff.
