amazing how this place is still less appealing than the literally crashing and burning bird app, I can see why bluesky is the one people are generally favouring
though I still think Mush gets bonesawed before the bird app actually dies
@GarethDennis Fully agree. My bet is on Bluesky too.
@GarethDennis communities take time to build, and that means we need to put the effort in. Build it and they will come. Bluesky is going to go the exact same way as Twitter given enough time. We have to stop engaging in digital sharecropping!
@GarethDennis to that end I'm going to start doing railways explained threads again, and I'll be posting them here. If people want my content, they can get it on a platform that doesn't support billionaires, right wing grifters and transphobia.
@25kV @GarethDennis Gareth, we need people like you here to encourage others over.
@25kV @GarethDennis I'm inclined to agree. Unless Bluesky becomes properly federated, there's a risk that it could go the same way as Twitter or Reddit.
@neilturner @GarethDennis It's literally owned by the guy that sold Twitter to Space Trump, so why would we think it will end any differently?
@25kV @GarethDennis Exactly. I mean, hopefully Bluesky won't get taken over by a Space Karen 2.0 but I'm not willing to take that chance again.
@GarethDennis yeah but just convince Hipwell to get on here and it’ll be much better. 😊
@GarethDennis I've come to like it here, but I use a third-party client, have a lot of mutuals that work in tech, which are relatively well represented here and still miss a number of voices from twitter, including yours.
@GarethDennis I would like to experience Bluesky albeit I have never recieved there email, i have been waiting for about 4 months now.

@GarethDennis I find it the opposite.... But the only way to improve it is to post good content.

The sort you normally post on the other side is the sort of things we need to get train mastodon onto the mainline
