President Macron of #France cancels his visit to #Germany as unrest does not abate in his country.
@w7voa How have the citizens of America become so accustomed to police violence that it's barely noticed?
Just one happens in France and the entire nation convulses.
3 a day occur here and it's just another day.

Police kill about 3 men per day in the US, according to new study

Official records on police homicides are full of holes. A new study tries to fill in the gaps – and finds new evidence of racial and regional inequality.

@oldmeanroy @w7voa it’s called the media makes the stories bigger than they need to be.
@SNAFO @w7voa It's more like police shootings are so common here it's barely news but in France it's rare and gets the attention it deserves.
@oldmeanroy @w7voa the police in the US are trained different than the ones in France. Plus the people in France like to have a riot anytime the weatherman is wrong.
@SNAFO @w7voa You don't think a cop shooting a kid in the face through the car window and lying about it is worth a riot then I take it.
"eyewitnesses and surveillance video contradicted the official narrative" just like here.
@oldmeanroy @w7voa Things happen like this all the time and sometimes it’s even worse and no one riots. It’s all about how the media props it up and who gives it more exposure!
@SNAFO @w7voa i suggest to you that there should be demonstrations if not riots in each and every case of unwarranted police violence.
Here in the united states it is so common for police to kill unarmed civilians that only in highly publicized and egregious cases such as George Floyd is there protest and it rarely results in punishment.
Usually what occurs is "we have investigated our selves and find it was within policy".

@SNAFO @w7voa Compared to France police in the US receive virtually no training.
"chosen through selective examination based on university standards, students complete a two-year course (including Law, International Relations, Crime, Public Order, Human Resources Management, Relations with Medias, Human Rights, Foreign Languages, Crisis Management) in order to become a Gendarme Officer."
21 weeks in the US.

One reason France has 37 police shootings per year and the United States has 1096.

@oldmeanroy @w7voa I highly doubt the police in France get confronted by armed individuals as much as the police in the USA do…
