What games have y'all been playing a lot on your deck recently? - Lemmy.world

I installed Windows to an SD card and now my partner and I play Call of Duty together from bed in the weekend mornings.
I was just thinking of trying this!! Is it the newest CoD? How’s performance?
We’ve been playing DMZ on the newest one, yeah. Graphics settings are on the preset second from lowest and it plays fine.
Surprisingly enough, need for speed underground 2
Which version?
I tried to get xemu to work but just couldn’t. The PS2 version started right up with emudeck and pcsx2

Why not the pc version? Iirc proton was running it well.

I finished nfsu pc version on deck, it was also running very good.

Me too! I’m flip-flopping between Underground 2 and Most Wanted 2005.
Great games, running great in PCSX2.
Most wanted 2005 was amazing. Racing games that somehow felt like RPGs, the golden age of the franchise.
Been playing a lot of Solasta lately. Also, picked up Inscryption on the Steam sale today, and already hooked.
It took a little experimentation to get video settings right, but Solasta is great on the Deck.
Working on Octopath Traveler 2 and Persona 5 Royal right now.
The Witcher 3, Cult of the Lamb, and MMBN Legacy Collection.
Dave the Diver
Just beat the giant squid last night! I’m a little unsure what some of the mechanics mean still , but great game!
Death Stranding. Still keeping on keeping on!
I wanna 100% this game again just for the sake of playing it portably. Brilliant game.
Great game, this was my covid comfort. Played it on Ps4 and I miss my bibi and the thumbs up

No Man’s Sky, lots of No Man’s Sky this last month. Monster Hunter World is installed and ready to go… but I just need to finish something in No Man’s Sky first.

For a smaller Indie title, I was playing Aground before the latest NMS community expedition.

My daughter has been borrowing it to play The Lake, and my son and I have been playing Nickelodeon Brawl and Nickelodeon Carts on it.

I was addicted to no man’s sky for a while, plays great on the deck. I took a black hole somewhere and then had an existential crisis wondering what I was doing it there in the universe and left myself stranded lost somewhere I didn’t know
No Man’s Sky has really suckered me in. I’m also playing through Yakuza like a Dragon, but NMS is spending a lot more time open atm.
The pause feature really helps, no more waiting for 30 seconds to load into the last system, just pick it up and play.
Warframe, some emulated games.
I cannot recommend portal reloaded enough. It’s just gotten a co op mode.
On a Remedy run. I finished Quantum Break two days ago and now on to Alan Wake. Next comes Control (maybe i need a small genre break in between )
Deeply addicted to Monster Train after picking it up on the sale
I’ve been playing Zelda ToTK, and can’t get enough. I absolutely love how far emulation has come.
Non-stop Diablols for me or StS if I can’t guarantee an hour or can’t get online. Diablo IV runs perfectly.
What build and level? I’m a blood surge necro at level 51
Level 68 HOTA (hammer of the ancients) Barbarian. Looking forward to season one?
I’m thinking of trying another build for the season, how is the HOTA barbarian? I’m enjoying rolling the blood out of every grub on the screen with my necromancer
The HOTA Barb has felt consistently powerful at every level. It’s particularly vulnerable against ranged enemies but in a crowded room it’s just unstoppable. Not a lot of finesse though. icyVeins has a good guide for level 1-50 and then maxroll.gg was good for tier 3. I’m undecided what to do for S1, definitely want to try something new though.
Tons of Days Gone. So sick of open world games but this has consumed me
I recently just bought Zuma Deluxe from the summer sale because of nostalgia. It’s a bit tough to use the trackpad initially but you end up getting used to it. Other than that, I emulated Animal Crossing
Tears of the Kingdom and Brotato.
High on Life and Arkham Asylum. Also CS:Go but that’s an everlasting game.
I tried csgo but found I was horrible on the deck, always been a mouse and keyboard gamer for me
Diablo 4 and Project Zomboid. Playing these games with a controller is an amazing experience. Took me a while to get used to with Zomboid tho.

Just finished Jedi Fallen Order and now I'm again stuck to Hades and Brotato.

I've lend it to my girlfriend for an evening and she tried some "Weeb" games especially Atelier Ryza and ordered herself a Deck now to since it's summer sale :)

How does Fallen Order run on the Deck? It shows as not supported.
I haven’t played the whole way through, but so far, no problems on Steam OS.

I beat it on deck a few months ago. It has some stuttering that is annoying. But, I’ve read that it happens no matter how beafy your system is.

I had a blast playing it.

The last game I’ve played on the deck is The Lake. Tried some Apico too, but I don’t understand the goal in that game.

Recently finished another play through of Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Started Shadow of the Tomb Raider, but went back to playing some older titles starting with Legend.

How does Legend play on the Deck? I’ve played the whole of the new trilogy and up to 3 of the old ones (all of them before I got the Deck). And I wanna get into that “middle trilogy” too, the Deck sounds like a nice fit for those games.

Plays flawlessly on about 3w of power (so your battery will last a good while).

I’m about half way through now. When you configure it, turn off the “Next Gen Graphics” or you’ll get a fatal error next time you try to load your save.

Also, the main menu doesn’t work with controller inputs. I just mapped the Enter and Esc keys to back buttons, and then use the right trackpad as the mouse.

Gamepad controls work in game.

Thanks for the heads up!
Sooo much Binding of Isaac, maybe too much. If you like difficult, rng-based games it’s one of the best.
Tomb Raider because 3,60 € was a no-brainer. Ended up buying the whole series in sale...
you mean on my brotatoDeck? surely people don’t do anything other than use for brotato. I mean, that is what it’s for. right? … right!!!
I finally got D5 on everyone a few weeks ago, then more new characters so the addiction resumes
American Truck Simulator. And I can’t stop. I don’t know why it’s so enjoyable. I have a huge backlog of games go play, but instead I’ve got a load of Amonium Nitrate to haul to Barstow, CA.
Katamari Damacy ReRoll
How does it compare to the og katamari?
I’m seriously addicted to Dave The Diver at the moment.
Tears of the kingdom! emulation has been making strides recently
It has gotten so much better in the last few weeks. Nearly 30fps stable, far fewer crashes. Very enjoyable!
