@thomas @arstechnica I tried to use Lemmy. I couldn’t even sign up, or maybe I did sign up, I’m unsure. I work in IT so if even I can’t achieve it, Lemmy is unusable.
@kyanar @arstechnica Lemmy was under some heavy load lately. You can follow lemmy instances from Mastodon, that's what I do, but sometimes it can be confusing to understand the flow of the conversation. The Android app Fedilab handles it well. Put the URL of the Lemmy community you want to follow and you can follow it like an account. But like I said, the main Mastodon interface can make this a confusion experience so you may want to look into having a Lemmy account.

The YouTuber Technology Connections had some oddities when a Lemmy community tagged him as seen in this thread, he uses Mastodon: https://mas.to/@TechConnectify/110613804504504577

Attached: 1 image Soooo.... here's a fun Fedi thing which is bad. I've been getting notifications about this conversation since it started and I have no idea why. Several people are talking about me, but seemingly nobody knows I can see this. I replied to somebody who was outlining why they don't watch my videos anymore (which - fine, but I felt they misunderstood my intention and wanted to clarify) and that caught them off guard.
