In case anyone is wondering, #Twitter is working fine for me, which suggests the problems are random and related to load balancing or race conditions as some have suggested.

it's definitely not that there is a limit on tweets viewed for non-paid accounts.

@q_aurelius Wild! It's totally dead for me. I can't see anything new or read replies to my tweets, and I get the "can't load tweets" pop-up on every view.

@OhWeeBeasties yeah. It's actually faster for me today than mastodon which seems a little sluggish due to the extra traffic.

But other than most of my timeline being poorly complaining about it being broken, Twitter is working fine.
