A justification I heard voiced decades ago goes like this: "If I start serving group A, then my regular customers will stop coming."

It seems the only justifiable reason to deny service to someone is if they are disruptive in some way. Destructive to your store, threaten you or other patrons, or steal, something like that.

But that has nothing to do with being gay, does it.
