How to add a community from the Fediverse if it does not appear when you search for it in kbin:

Using the site search option (magnifying glass icon at the top) search for the community using communityname@domain format.

It will then be available via the standard magazine search function for you and any future users.

@Friend I got it to work. But I will say that this is never going to catch on because it's way too complicated and unintuitive.
