@GottaLaff And just like @aweissmann_ said on Deadline Whitehouse this afternoon...We HAVE to expand the court....Biden has to realize that the next Repub WILL do it. They have no adherence or reverence to norms at all...we MUST adjust our thinking if we want to save this DEMOCRACY

Republicans won’t expand the court next time. They don’t need to expand what they already own.

Blaming Biden does nothing but help Republicans. You’re telling people a lie (anyone who says Biden can expand the court is lying or ignorant) and when Biden can’t do anything, people decide they shouldn’t vote and Republicans win.

@matthewrigdon I think @BlueWaver22 knows that.

But it would be helpful if he openly supported it. Without his encouragement, Congressional Dems aren’t as likely to try. That’s pretty obvious. We need him behind us.

@GottaLaff @BlueWaver22 I’m not convinced he should waste any political capital on something he just can’t deliver. He’s down 3 votes for expansion we know of 1) Manchin 2) Sinema 3) Feinstein. Who knows who else is hiding. These aren’t people he can really bully. Senators are incredibly recalcitrant. A lot of them know they’ll be there longer than any president.
