Too many people I work with in policy describe the rise of misinformation as a dangerous new phenomenon.

Yes, social media has recently added countless new opportunities & dimensions, but circulating rumors & lies have been plaguing us for at least as long as we’ve been around to record them. Just look to the history of medicine or nutrition.

Humans believe & widely share all sorts of stories that aren’t true. It’s not new.

@Sheril True, it isn't new, but what is new is policymakers, policy enforcers, and policy interpreters aren't controlling it and that is new. They are being force fed by their acquaintances and schoolmates who are in disguise. These parasites who have more than anyone are wanting more still. Their solution seems to be if there are less of us, there is more resources for them.
