Hand held gaming devices are not for me. I think they’re pretty awful form factor and riddled with ergonomic and UX problems. However I bought a SteamDeck to play Baldur’s Gate 3 before I knew it was coming out on PS5, with the intention of using it via a dock and with a controller.

Once they announced PS5 I thought about getting rid, then discovered Chiaki. This lets me play my PS5 remotely and pretty smoothly I have to say.

But why? For when my wife wants to watch TV and I don’t.

@brindy The Steam Deck is the first comfortable handheld for decades IMNSHO.
@hamishtpb that’s a sorry state of affairs! 🙃 I really felt it in my neck after looking down at the screen and my hands felt broken going back to the ps5 controller.

@brindy I only use the Deck in bed TBH. As with all things techy, this old fart uses a full PC with a keyboard and big screen wherever possible :) I don't even use my phone for "social media", I hate on-screen controls.

Another reason I like the Deck so much (and, almost as much, the Steam Controller) is that it is a decent size and my hands don't cramp curling into it to reach the fire buttons and joysticks.

@hamishtpb Valve learned from the Wii U's GamePad.
@DrewNaylor That is one of the places they must have looked for lessons, yeah.
