Remember: Steam Summer Sale 2023 starts on 29 June 2023! - Lemmy.world

Want to buy a new game on pc or on your Steam Deck? I recommend to wait a few hours. :) - Countdown https://steamdb.info/sales/history/ [https://steamdb.info/sales/history/] - Store https://store.steampowered.com/ [https://store.steampowered.com/]

Any lists with what will be on sale?
I'm also curious

https://gg.deals/blog/steam-summer-sale-2023-starts-next-week-what-games-will-go-one-sale/

Only a few 'confirmed' titles appeared on the promo video so far. Hope to see some big discounts

Will have to wait to see I guess.
If you haven't seen a sale before it's usually a heck of a lot of stuff (feels like the whole site).
This year I will stay strong and not buy bundles that I will never play.
I will check few indi games on my wishlist, but for sure I won't buy any AAA game. I still got massive backlog on PC, PS5 and NS.
This is the first advertisement I've seen on lemmy.
More like a heads-up. :)

Because real people don't enjoy sales?

This isn't an advertisement and tons of PC gamers love gaming sales (which can usually get quite substantial for PC games). I mean, there's a whole meme about constantly buying more games than you can play.

I can tell you what won't be on sale... Starfield. :P
Maybe it will be on Game Pass though. Seems like the kind of game I'd rather own than rent, but perhaps at launch I'll try it on Game Pass and then buy later.
Looking in the Deck's direction with deep anxiety in the wallet...
I was reeeaaally tempted to get it last time it was discounted but the rational skeptic in me knows it'd be just a forgotten toy on the side within a month since I'm used to gaming on my (pretty good) desktop. Even if you travel a lot it only has a few hours of battery life so you can't take it too far from civilization anyway
Would an external battery pack be able to keep it going? I have a battery pack that claims it can put out up to 18W. It's really meant for phones, but wonder if it can keep a Steam Deck going, too?

A quick search gave me this discussion on steam forums about it https://steamcommunity.com/app/1675200/discussions/0/5057002258661709742/

Seems like 40 or 60W is the bare minimum you need to provide in order for deck to stop draining its own battery

any recommendations for a good external battery? :: Steam Deck General Discussions

Like if I'm on a long plane without an outlet. Can I just buy one of those small mobile phone battery bricks and plug it in, or it needs to be of certain specs for this thing you think?

There's a few games I've been meaning to get so I'm actually looking forward to this specific sale.
Excited to buy 20 more games I won't get around to playing. Especially if they are cheap!
Low impulse control gang assemble!
Great birthday present, cheers gabe
My wedding is exactly on the 29th of July. Might have to cancel that.
