Trees is one of the "jokes" within Reddit where "marijuanaenthusiasts" was a sub for literal trees and trees was for weed

And based on that joke, the members of r/trees would call themselves "ents" as in the Treefolk from LordOfTheRings.

And that's why there is a community called c/vaporents as in "Vapor" ents - from a reddit group dedicated to dry herbal vaporizers.
