@GaryRSimonds just found this but it's spot on. My son is looking into medical school and as we learn the process to apply it's absurd. He finished is first year in a dual degree engineering program around biomed and electrical but the addition of all the outside school volunteer work is insane. What does it prove? He won't have any time to actually do his college work. It's a bit shocking as a parent to see this process. Maybe we will look outside the US for med school.
