Did you select some languages in your profile (or was it settings)?
When I go to my profile on Firefox, there's nothing to change. All settings (and profile) are changed from the Settings menu, and in there there is only "Undetermined" listed for languages. There's no option (that I am able to find) to choose a different or additional language.
There's no other languages to select for accounts made here on startrek.website, that's the problem.
Ah duh, right, now I understand you; the dropdown in the comment box only shows languages you have selected in the account settings and you can't select any in the first place. Have you poked the admins about it?
This is my "poking" and so far I at least got their attention ( https://startrek.website/comment/222557 ) so we'll see how it goes. I can't imagine this being intentional, just a misunderstanding. Now, maybe it's tricky to change whatever setting that is, I don't know, but that's a different matter :)
Oh yeah I bet it's just a configuration issue, it's a new instance after all and I doubt the admins have run a Lemmy instance before. Not many people have 😁
