@1dalm If #Meta is coming to the #Fediverse, and it seems they are, the Fediverse needs to be prepared. We need a strong community and we need trust. Right now trust is being attacked, not by mention of secret #NDA meetings with Meta, but by the secret meetings themselves. The way to build trust is to address these concerns head on, not cover them up, and hope they fizzle out. They won't. The Fediverse is worried and needs to hear from people in leadership rolls that they've got this.

No, the gossip does not "need to stop", it will go on, because people are worried about the survival of their communities, and those who appear to be unilaterally deciding everyone's else's destiny continue to hoard their secrets. It's very helpful of @mastodonmigration to confront them with this rumor

@ophiocephalic The gossip does need to stop it is childish. The only way to be concerned is via gossip? Im sorry but that is not true. The gossip has also led others including myself to receive death threats. Communities will survive, it won't be due to Meta directly if they don't. It will be due to fundamental differences.

@ophiocephalic They are not, they did not start rumours. Users did by throwing a damn tantrum based on rumours. I love how you ignored the comments about death threats. It's people like you that are part of the problem. Death threats are worse than some people potentially meeting with Meta

Anyone sending them is making things much worse, harming the community, and being over emotional.
