Lemmy is certainly a lot faster than new reddit, but I prefer the aesthetic and speed of old.reddit.com [http://old.reddit.com] and hackernews. I like the minimalism and how everything defaults to the left of the browser rather than the center. I also really enjoy how I can expand the entire text of a post without actually clicking on the post’s link. Just my thoughts. Hoping to see more theme and front-end options emerge over time.

There's definitely some features I'd like to see as well. I mainly access Lemmy using a desktop browser so that's my perspective.

Foremost for me is a compact view. I'd really like to be able to view more posts on a page using a much smaller font with no extraneous line spaces.

A tip box that shows content when hoovering on a post would be great for me.

The ability to group duplicate communities would be a big help.

A setting to open all links in a new tab would make navigation easier. There's middle mouse and context menu on right mouse, but I'm so used to left mouse I can't beat the habit and constantly lose my place.

I need a global default for my sort order, or more granular options. You can specify it from the user settings, but it only applies to the front page.

In the meantime you can use custom themes with browser extensions like Stylus from [email protected] or injected scripts which try to recreate the old Reddit style.
