Good Switch game for 7yo who doesn't read/speak English? - Lemmy.world

I’ve recently repaired my old Switch and given it to a friend. Since I suspect they’ll be playing with their 7yo kid, I just wanted to know if you have any recommendations? The kid doesn’t speak/read English, so the game in question would need to not rely on understanding of the language. Their native language is Swedish if that has any impact. Thanks!

Thank you all! I'm leaning towards Yoshi's Crafted World, but I have a copy of New Super Mario Bros Deluxe that I'm ready to part with for now. I might gift them Yoshi later as a birthday gift

What the Golf? worked well for the nephews cause almost no text, very simple controls and can play almost all of it on touchscreen (some holes use gyro aiming), a quick play/show to a friend mode and also a funny game.

  • Rayman Legends
  • Yoshi's Crafted World
  • New Super Mario Bros Deluxe
  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

My kid (non-English speaking) has played most of these and loved them.

Lots of great suggestions, but I'd like to add Captain Toad Treasure Tracker. The puzzles are fun and they encourage you to think outside the box.

Yeah, all Mario games are great. Mario Odyssey, Super Mario 3D World, New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe, all are good suggestion for a kid (and grownups)
