Clinical decision support potential seen in latest ChatGPT update.

OpenAI's ChatGPT versions, GPT-3.5 and GPT-4, show potential as clinical support tools for triaging patients in radiology. The large language models were able to refer patients for imaging exams based on clinical needs and performed well compared to ACR Appropriateness Criteria. Integration of these tools into clinical workflows could greatly improve efficiency. GPT-4 outperformed GPT-3.5 in breast cancer prompts. The study suggests that ChatGPT has promise for radiologic decision-making and accuracy could be improved with hybrid prompts. For more details, refer to the study abstract.
