Being in the IT field long enough to know you should no longer care when someone comes to you with a "workflow” as obtuse as storing emails of importance by copying them into an Excel workbook and doing unholy things with merged/multicolor cells and sheets.

If a persons brain 🧠 has wired itself around a workflow, no matter how obtuse — just let them be.

@chrisgrande I like the way you think. It is akin to the way businesses should give a list of things that need accomplishing and then not micromanaging employees as long as the outcomes are conducive to the business. Unfortunately the more productive an individual is, the more likely they’ll be rewarded with more pressure and work versus being congratulated and commeded.
