This bike lane - Feddit

Someone forgot that bike lanes should actually have space for a bike. And maybe not cobblestones. Legally, combined footpath/bike lanes over here should have a minimum width of 2.3m. Between line and tree there is less than 0.8m.

This is just bike lanes in general, it feels like they're just painted in randomly to shut people up, except they're just not practically useful.

Engineers love painted bike lanes because they are shoulders/“recovery zones” for cars, but they can sell them as bike infrastructure

Yeah in my area, instead of construct a dedicated one, they just paint on an existing lane and that took out half a car lane. It makes sense in theory but in practice there's no point to it.
