Don't even let them get that far. The constitution of the CSA MANDATED slavery. If it was ever actually about "states' rights" then why didn't they let their own states decide if they wanted to allow slavery or not?
States' rights is and always has been a bullshit, bad faith argument that falls apart under the slightest scrutiny.
