Tall stands for 12oz? Interesting. English "tall" sounds like the Norwegian and Swedish number 12, written "Tolv" (with silent "v").

This is coincidence - the two are unrelated. "Tolv" is cognate with English "twelve", and English "tall" is cognate with Swedish tal
