We had an original edition in our house (grandfather never read it, argued that he never burned books for the nazis, so he wouldn't start now). I read the first couple of dozen pages when I was maybe 17. Seemed bizarre: AH writing that he could have gone to a Gymnasium (secondary school for the best pupils) but decided against it... Yeah, right, lol, YOU decided against it... Didn't continue, it just didn't seem worthwhile...

Now imagine the modern Nazi, khem, I mean alt-right voter. This is exactly their jam. They would read that and know why he didn't go to Gymnasium, but they would love his bullshit excuse. For them, it's a success story: a moron like themselves, elevated to the head of state. It just makes him easier to identify with. See also: Trump
