This is GLOBALLY, folks. If you're in the US and you make $50k annually, THIS IS YOU. You're in the top 2% globally.

It's a statement on the unfathomably wide gap between developed and developing countries.

And still, if you would create such a graph for the US alone, the picture would be exactly the same.

This should therefore still lead to the same conclusions.
