About ~58% of the subreddits that pledged to go dark/restricted are still in that state currently. It does seem to be an ever-dwindling number though and I've seen several subreddits that I'm part of vote against going dark indefinitely and to remain open after the initial protest.
I feel like a small contingent of people could so annoyingly harass reddit advertisers their unprofitable business could be imploded by the end of the year. Like so few people pay attention to ads already, if reddit ads invited negative attention I think it'd be really easy to get them to just abandon the platform.
