Why am I constantly hearing this notion that "everybody should go to therapy"? I ask because it may be easier for someone who has the money or insurance to do that once they have have come to terms with it themselves, but most people don't have the resources to take advantage of it. Some people don't know anyone they can confide in. They say that loneliness is now an epidemic. What can America do to provide better access to mental healthcare?
@zaythelegend it's even worse now because, since the pandemic started, a larger number of people are seeking mental healthcare and there just aren't enough professionals to handle the load.
@fuzzykb Wow. I can attest to this. I'm glad we are in an age where there is less of a stigma around discussions about mental health, but there is still so much more America can do better to make sure everyone can do better at taking care of mental health first and making it accessible and affordable.

@zaythelegend sometimes my therapist is just a personal dumping ground, the way bartenders have been portrayed. It's just a release where I know I am the one venting, not having to listen as much. It's an allowed selfishness.

Other times I need the professional to keep me on track and safe.

The first could be offered by many people, and we really do all need that space
