Interesting points there. Once I got familiar enough with linux, I pretty much stopped paying attention to the recommended levels - except maybe to suggest how much work was going to be needed for setup. While I had a couple periods of distro hopping, my trajectory over the last 20 yrs was basically: Ubuntu -> Arch -> Fedora. I definitely agree Fedora is one of the best all-in-one distros that is accessible for new users, yet essentially unlimited in potential. I'd argue Ubuntu and its derivatives fit the bill as well. These days I'm actually back to W11 for broad compatibility/gaming, and I use a Debian WSL2 instance plus Docker for Linux use-cases.
