@dansup the Instagram tag still shows up for me. Not many posts for #joinpixelfed, but 1,000+ posts for #pixelfed.
I see that "something went wrong" screen if I'm not logged in. I bet this randomly started because of Instagram's recent effort to make all content gated behind account login.

I noticed a lot of things get blocked through their web version, as opposed to the app. I can't mention war in Ukraine in a post on Instagram web version - it just doesn't allow me to publish. This is actually the reason I ditched instagram; for now I just stopped posting and scrolling the feed, but I occasionally respond to messages from friends.
I messaged every contact on Instagram I ever talked to in direct messages, and it let me send the link to my Mastodon. I didn't know I would like Pixelfed much more at that time :)

@dansup You can currently search #joinPixelfed on Instagram and find some hits, but it is a suspiciously low number. It says "fewer than 100" and displays a lot fewer than that. So, perhaps partial blocking?

Actually I just was able to see #joinpixelfed on Instagram. I added it to a picture of my dog. We'll see what happens.
