An extension to make interacting with different lemmy instances easier. - Lemmy.world

Yo FIrefox just accepted my extension which makes interaction with other lemmy instances easier. Chrome still tbc but Google should’ve accepted it by this time next week methinks. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/lemmy-link-redundant/ [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/lemmy-link-redundant/] https://github.com/FackJox/lemmy-link [https://github.com/FackJox/lemmy-link] It adds a small icon to other instances so that you can easily open it in your own lemmy instance for interaction etc. [https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/625e13c1-c84b-428e-b941-7a8769168780.jpeg] It’s simple, rough and ready but super useful, just input your lemmy instance in settings and then enable it for all sites or just the lemmy sites you want and hey presto. Open for ideas, collaboration and feedback as always :)

Thank you, this is exactly what I needed!
Awesome, thanks! Definitely going to give it a try tomorrow.
This is exactly what I was looking for! I'll give it a try later
Would it be possible to port to Firefox for Android?
I've not tested it so I didn't enable it for android but I don't see why it wouldn't to be honest. It's getting late here now so I'll have a play tomorrow :)
There's a few of these popping up. Maybe you guys can work together.

Chrome extension to add a "search" link when browsing logged out Lemmy instances - Red's Make Space

I’ve been annoyed by the “copy [email protected] to your instance’s search” aspect of joining new communities. To make this more streamlined I created this extension to add a “Search on [myhomeinstance]” button on community pages. It’s currently submitted for approval in the chrome web store, which could take a few days, but you should be able to install it as an unpacked extension in developer mode today. Please let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions.

Thanks for the link!
It would be cool to merge these plus this one that does link formatting into one threadiverse super extension.

And then make it a pull request on the front end's repo!
I’m mobile only but I’m damn impressed anyway! That seemed fast!
Have you considered modifying this to be a pull-request for lemmy-ui? It's cool to have an extension, but Lemmy being open-source makes it possible to merge the improvement upstream and make it better for everyone.
Looks like the Firefox extension has been pulled which is a bummer.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/lemmy-link/ hey man it's still here
Nice! I'm excited to try it out. I must have caught it at a bad time last night.
Wow such a nice quality of life change!
Wait slow down. So lets say Instance A defederated Instance C, one user from Instance A posts to a community in Instance B, and another user from Instance C also posts to the same community in instance B, do they see each other's posts?

This post initially had a series of examples to explain this. But I can't seem to add them. You can see them in the comment here: https://lemmy.world/comment/205763

I think that will help explain what is going on. Let me know if it helps!

Thanks for doing the work and adding this to Firefox. :)

hihi the dev i forked it from added a lemmy option and is absolutely smashing it on the dev front, definitely recommend to use theirs!!
