I’m going to be honest, the whole blackout seemed pretty ineffective.
Also lmao at people complaining about the UI of Lemmy - did they fully expect a finished polished website to just be ready for us to migrate to?
A 2 day blackout was never going to do anything. I'm a little disappointed that we (r/gunners) aren't extending it indefinitely. But it seemed like there wasn't quite enough popular support for it.
And yeah, that's a bit of a pet peeve of mine. Turns out it costs time and money to build a site like reddit. Although honestly, most of the features that I personally miss are from apps like Reddit is fun or RES. Not so much from the main Reddit interface.
Yep. Setting a hard cutoff point of 48h limited the impact quite a bit. I’ve seen other subs go on “read-only” mode indefinitely and I wonder if r/Gunners would even entertain the thought, and should there be a vote for it I honestly doubt it’ll pass…
And yeah, Lemmy itself is just another platform like Reddit was before the little annoyances were added; most of what I liked wasn’t from Reddit but Apollo. Reckon Lemmy would do better once Mlem on iOS is out of beta or there’s a proper App around.
I think it's a smart way to manage scaling your site but I think what made Reddit unique (and what Lemmy is replicating) is the ability to create your own little bubble in the world no matter how niche. I was aware of Tildes and still chose Lemmy instead for that reason.
Honestly, I'm starting to prefer the smaller community here on /c/gunners even compared to /r/gunners. Feels a little for personal.
Starting to think there's something there but I doubt it will be quick. We don't really need him and Chelsea are going to try and hold ou for another buyer/more money so could see this one going to the wire.
Which as he's not going to be starting isn't necessarily a bad thing, either way you think we're going for Rice/Caicedo first as they will be starting.
The interesting thing about the quotes I've seen is '£60m "all in"'. Which suggests this is press fuckery to add more to the valu than they normally would when reporting a transfer (basically th opposite of how Haaland was done)
So assuming you remove bonuses for winning and who knows what else it could be considerably lower.
I'd take him at Jesus costs as he's not on his last year of contract.
To be fair, he did win them a Champions Legue final.
Hopefully he can for us too.
Are we legit more active than the /c/football community?
Exwhu info (via Doc on twitter)
Since there multiple people have leaked it but not told the full story sharing it.
Exwhu already posted 2 hours before Ornstein that Arsenal made a 80m+10m pound offer for Rice and has been rejected but normal since it's an opening bid
Also mention City keen but Rice prefers Arsenal
Updated it by saying next bid from Arsenal with increased offer likely today or tomorrow.

Apparently Kulusevski isn't as tied down to the shithole as we might have imagined. Are we still interested in having him? Could probably get him for pretty cheap if Newcastle pass on him. (and if he's willing, he seemed pretty happy swimming around there)

Rumours in Spain that Barca are moving on to Amrabat for €25-30m because Zubimendi is too expensive.
I wonder if that has played a part in us pulling out of the Caicedo deal. We've always preferred Zubimendi, and he'd even be cheaper. The only issue was that he always preferred Barca to us.
