YSK that kbin.social is now federating, adding hundreds of communities and ~26k more users content - Lemmy.world

Because they don’t get listed by browse.feddit.de [http://browse.feddit.de] you’ll want to browse https://kbin.social/magazines [https://kbin.social/magazines] to browse “magazines”, which is what they call communities e.g. [email protected] [/c/[email protected]] or directly, https://kbin.social/m/RedditMigration [https://kbin.social/m/RedditMigration] Why YSK: Federation literally just synched up thanks to the tireless efforts by @[email protected] [/u/[email protected]] over the past few days.

@CodingAndCoffee So nice to be able to comment on this straight from Mastodon, too. Though it's weird that the existing comments don't show up on Mastodon when I paste the URL to this post in my search box (t)here.
Wait… how?

@gormster Copy the URL of the post on Kbin and paste it into the search box on Mastodon. It then shows up like a regular post and you can reply to it.

Works in the web version at least, not all apps seem to support that though. I tried in Ivory and it didn't work.

Your reply also showed up as a regular reply on Mastodon. So neat!
