(1/2) I just got a #phishing test that I’m certain a lot of employees will fail. This should be fun. 😛

A coworker had just posted to one of our Teams channels and I’d opened Teams to see it. Then at that same time, I got a Teams “meeting request” phishing test. Well, I had Teams open and could see there were no messages showing (wherever that would even appear?). I was 90% sure it was junk, not a test, but I reported it, anyway, to annoy the people who have to check. 😏 And it was a test. 🙌

(2/2) Many may fail because it’s a message they may already get versions of during their day. You click to view it in Teams and go from there. But 1) I had Teams open already (handy), by sheer chance (!); 2) my group doesn’t use Teams for meetings; and 3) I always open Teams in the browser rather than clicking emails because I can’t get #Outlook to use the right browser. 😡 So for once, #Microsoft’s incompetence helps me. 🙌 💻

(3/2) The other thing is that one of the tells for suspicious email is the yellow banner at the top telling you it’s a risk. This phishing test has this banner. But people will ignore this because all Teams notices have this banner, even though it’s approved software we’re supposed to be using. 🤦‍♀️
