rOpenSci News

A digest of R package and software review news, use cases, blog posts, and events, curated monthly.

@rOpenSci @rstats Thank you, @ropensci for this statement. It makes me even prouder to be a part of the rOpenSci community.

@rOpenSci @rstats

Nice!

Btw, are there any other R related organizations active on mastodon?

(Like the R project, R consortium, Posit, ...)

Just a reminder to Dispel ;) the confusion for people (like me) confused about Diaspora* (AGPL) vs Discourse (GPL-2+) vs Discord (proprietary):

rOpensci is clearly on Discourse (but the mastodon icon with a link to @rOpenSci is missing up the top of the page).

@[email protected] @[email protected] @[email protected] To avoid confusion for people like me who still get the Di* confused, there are three unrelated software packages (and unrelated sets of physical servers): Discourse | GPL-2+ = https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discourse_%28software%29 Discord | proprietary = https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discord ; Warning: "server" for Discord means a virtual set of rooms, not a physical server diaspora* | GNU AGPL3 = https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diaspora_%28social_network%29 = part of the Fediverse (indirectly, not through ActivityPub)
