New threads populating on main page

When I’m at the main lemmy.world page, at the top of the page new posts are popping up as I’m trying to browse posts - is there any way to stop this?

From what I've seen, it's a known issue that they are working on fixing.

No, it's currently because of websockets from what I understand.

I'd imagine this is burning through server resources

I don't imagine it being very positive.
