The latest update in NHS guidelines for care of trans youth is beyond disappointing, but also dangerous to those seeking support through their services. Puberty blockers are being axed outside of clinical trials and people are being 'discouraged' from seeking them elsewhere, so here's a couple things:
🏳️⚧️ Trans youth are real, they need support, not to be a political trial
🏳️⚧️ Puberty blockers are safe and life-changing, and there's a lot of proof to show this
🏳️⚧️ Nationalised care is already in dismay, and it's being made worse
🏳️⚧️ We will ALWAYS be here for trans youth, and will still provide this care
We're glad to see that people can still use private providers without repercussion, as it seems that will be the only way to receive adequate care for trans youth in the UK 🤷
