A beautiful afternoon gardening with the doggies. Seconds after I took this shot, 2 young black bears ambled through our field (behind the dogs). Thank gawd no mama bear was there! The dogs only ran barking to the edge of the field and didn’t go in after the bears 😬😓

@LindaVT was there a moment where it felt like your heart stopped, as you watched the dogs run at them but before you realized there was no mama? I could imagine that if it were me.

@Liggs17 Absolutely heart stopping. I took a nanosecond to decide “now what” - my husband came off the porch in the direction of the dogs running toward the bears, I screamed STOP - run in the opposite direction so they chase you! It was enough to get Bandit to go after my husband, and then Zuzu stopped at the edge of the meadow, barking like the lunatic Border Collie that she is! The poor bears were probably more terrified than I was. ❤️
