I was thinking about IR photography today. Specifically the fact that it was common to have lenses have a special mark for IR focusing. Seems odd to me, since I thought IR was mostly meant for military applications originally. @Ratsrule67 My dad used BW infrared often in the 80s when he was in college studying photography. Not sure if that counts as hobbyist. It wasn't required for classes, it was his prerogative to use it.

@kjm that is informative, thank you for your input. I have been obsessed with IR for the last couple of years, most specifically IR tri chromes.
