2022: what if you had to find an alternative to twitter
2023: what if you had to find an alternative to reddit, discord, youtube, every single search engine, and microsoft windows

@chrisisgr8 I jumped the Windows ship a long time ago and I just kinda feel bad for the folks still deep enough in denial to still be caught by it. Kinda like I feel bad for the folks who feel trapped on Twitter. 😞

EDIT: Same actually applies to Discord and now Reddit, I guess, too...

@indigoparadox @chrisisgr8 Windows 10 *LTSC* isn't all that bad. And not everyone can jump ship because of poor experience you get on Linux when it comes to hardware support and complexity troubleshooting when things don't work out of the box.
@gearlicious @indigoparadox @chrisisgr8 true, for me my capture cards sound didnt work on Linux. OBS didnt show any audio source. Also my VR headset doesnt really have any Linux support. There is some open source program available but the performance while testing was always worse than my most used alternative which only works on Windows. Also some games i play simply wont work with Linux.

Jumping ships all in one go isn't a good idea either.
When I did my first steps toward Linux it was on a cheap laptop. At first just for internet stuff, then office, then programming. Later I found some games are working fine too...
Today I do everything on Linux.
@MadMike77 @octofloofy @chrisisgr8 @indigoparadox I'm wagering that once LTSC support runs out (mainly interested in security patches and full Visual Studio not to be confused with vscode), probably Manjaro or Kubuntu (mhhm KDE)
