Rory Stewart - Rest is Politics Podcast summarises Boris Johnston’s miserable political contribution
@CheRosach Conservative Party members: "But he was popular with the voters. Credit where it's due..."
@CheRosach Rory Stewart: A 'moderate', 'principled', Tory, who still voted for the Tories' policies of conscious cruelty.
@CheRosach just to clarify for an American, the elites in this case are the scientists or doctors? Generally the term is used pejoratively in US politics so I’m not entirely sure of what it means here.

@brandon @CheRosach
It's a term to refer to the group of shadowy people who are to blame when a right wing pet project fails miserably. They are everywhere, yet no one can name one. They control everything, yet their actions are invisible. They ride bicycles. They eat avocados. FEAR THEM.

The elites are definitely not the ones in government, flying on private jets, making policy and laws.

@Naich @CheRosach aha! So it is similar to its use in US politics! Thanks!
