A few weeks ago my dad elected to start hospice. This is not sudden, but still unexpected, as expected as it has been.

I'm saying this out loud because shared pain is divided (*).

Sympathy welcome, empathy too.

* I thought my dad was awesome, his friends and colleagues have started to tell me things I took for granted.
