LemmyAtemI find it interesting that so many subs going private caused issues with the entire site. I'm not a programmer/tech person, but I don't really understand why that would happen. Did it just create a bandwidth bottle neck or something as users flooded non-blacked out subs?

If you read the article there's a quote that distinctly mentions unexpected issues not planned maintenance.
