Reddit had become so valuable to me for several topic-specific subreddits that it's hard to leave.

But the Musk-like treatment of the people who helped make the site popular -- amplified by the CEO's deceit and arrogance -- is a reminder that highly centralized conversations are vulnerable.

So I'm disconnecting from Reddit and seeking alternatives, hoping that decentralization will win in the end.

Reddark

An open source website to watch subreddits going dark

@dangillmor going dark for 48h isn't going to be enough. Subs should stay dark and users should boycott reddit until they come back on their policy change and propose a more sensible pricing. If we all go back after 2 days, this will just confirm it's ok to bully users and developers.
