I'd guess that this pair of lawyers had been filing cases without reading the supporting docs & just no body noticed because at least the cases existed. ChatGPT made a bad lawyer obvious, not a good lawyer bad.
@mistersql @bornach @coupland @emilymbender Yes, it is obvious that this guy was an idiot, not a good lawyer led astray. But it's a good example of how chatbots' semblance of "personality" and ability to synthesize convincing documents circumvents people's normal judgement.
