I’ve started to research OTC hearing aids, and I’m kind of blown away at the options. I’m leaning towards ones with Bluetooth support, since wearing hearables full time will necessarily stop my use of earbuds; unfortunately everything I’m reading suggests even good ones aren’t super for music. Anyone out there with recent experience who has advice? #hearables #hearingAids #mildHearingLoss
@mr_nohup Do you have hearing issues?

@Discordanian yeah what they call mild to moderate hearing loss. It’s especially noticeable in a crowd (say, at a busy restaurant) where I cannot differentiate foreground from background sounds easily. Even at home I’ve started missing words unless I’m focused in on the speaker.

I’ve gone to the audiologist multiple times over the past several years and I’m finally at the point where aids are recommended (if I want to pay for them out of pocket.)

@mr_nohup Both my husband and my friend use Kirkland (Costco) hearing aids and love them. My husband has tried a more expensive brand but likes the Costco ones better. My husband streams music and audio books through them just fine.
