Who knows where thoughts come from. They just appear.

That also happens for why I decide to watch whatever show it is I'm watching. Ha.

Today I started the #kdrama #BeautyInside. About an actress who physically changes bodies for a week every month. And yet somehow the Koreans know how to make it into a GOOD story with emotions.

The most unbelievable thing so far (after 1 episode) is not that she changes bodies. But the size of that airplane bathroom. 😂 There is NO such airplane bathroom that is almost the size of a full sofa! Definitely not on domestic flights, even if it IS first class.

AHA. So the faceless dude that saved old-lady Se-gye was probably this face-blind CEO guy, right? By saving her and getting hit by the car instead of her, he had a brain injury that caused face blindness.

Omg, I had to watch that call scene about 4 times, because it has so many meanings!

1st time: the CEO dude is totally getting back at the friend
2nd time: what?! He's saying that in front of a woman?
3rd time: the friend is totally confused why this strange man's voice is answering her phone
4th time: THE FRIEND THOUGHT IT COULD HAVE BEEN HER IN A DIFFERENT BODY ANSWERING HER PHONE

OMG she changed into a man and his mother caught her/him in his bed! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

So the male secretary in "Beauty Inside" is NOT the actor Gong Myung, but looks similar. I looked up Gong Myung, knowing he was enlisted "recently" and according to Wikipedia, he will be discharged THIS WEEK! Woot!

He was my favorite in the middling series "The Bride of Habaek" and I enjoyed him in "Revolutionary Love," too. I hope he gets offered some good roles once he gets out of the military.

Welp, Facebook reminded me that a year ago today I was visiting my dad in hospice. And now episode 10 has Se-Gye saying goodbye to her mother who has a terminal illness.

😭😭😭

As a language learner, I find it interesting that what the subtitles say is "theology college" is 신학교 which the literal translation is "god school".

I love it when words are accurate.

How can Eun-ho say men and women can't be friends when his two best friends are women?!

The first time we saw her change was when she went up to receive an award. It was a week early and then she ran away before anyone could see her change.

Was it her nerves that caused that to happen?

When her face got stuck for more than a week, she was blaming herself for her manager needing to crash into a tree. I imagine that would have been incredibly upsetting. Maybe that's why her face couldn't change back?

And then when it did, it was when Do-jae unequivocally proclaimed he would love her no matter what she looked like, including as an old man. That radical love and acceptance and HUG allowed her to change back.

I wonder what happened in Europe that caused her to change into an old woman...

I liked the #BeautyInside #kdrama WAYYYY more than I expected. It was often a suggestion on Netflix and I just wasn't drawn in by the promo still. I thought it would be a US-style snobby rich famous lady who has to find her inner beauty or something. Definitely not what this was.

Figuring out how to love yourself, in all of your unexpected forms.

Good chemistry in the two main couples. I appreciated the brother-sister dynamics, too.

I was hoping the ending would be a redux of the beginning with Han Se-gye going up on stage to receive an award, but no.

This was a good one. I can see myself rewatching it in the future.

@jillithd I enjoyed that one, too. But such a weird premise! 😛
@jcurries exactly! And we never really find out why or how, which is fine, I guess. But that radical love, honesty, and acceptance was really refreshing.

Gong Myung posted to his insta today! He's out! 🥳🎉🎊
