More incitement from the Fascist Party…

“If you want to get to #Trump you’re going to have to go through me, and 75 million Americans just like me. And most of us are card carrying members of the NRA. That’s not a threat, that’s a public service announcement.”

@GottaLaff
I get Biden and the Dems not wanting to be goaded into GOP made-up battles, but surely they can call this sh!t out.

Something like "Whether Trump was guilty of a crime and deserves a sentence is up to the judicial system and a jury. He will have every right defend himself there. Any implied calls to extra judicial violence are a direct insult to rule of law"

@TCatInReality I do hear that now and then from Dems, but not as loudly and often as they should. Biden should be out there saying it, I agree.

@GottaLaff
I'd favor a primetime Oval Office address acknowledging the extraordinary nature of the charges and the defendant.

Biden could acknowledge the Trump voters, but also the 81M who voted for him - and the clear, consistent results of legal challenges. He can reaffirm that democracy provides another chance/election - but autocracy does not.

Biden is the grown up in the room. He needs to act like it more often.

@GottaLaff
If he wanted to be #DarkBrandon, he could also mention the E Jean Carroll case, Trump's ability to defend himself and the 9-person *unanimous* jury decision that he was liable for sexual assault and defamation.
@TCatInReality I do too. I think he’s avoiding the partisan take to avoid any appearance of whatever… must remain totally independent of DOJ, that kind of thing. But i do think he could address the threats, absolutely.

@TCatInReality @GottaLaff Yeah, no. I don't want Democrats - and certainly not POTUS - doing anything that could plausibly be argued polluted the jury pool.

Let the cops handle threats of violence. ATF alone gets $1.5b a year to take care of this stuff, and this is an occasion where failure means the agency ceases to exist.

@TCatInReality @GottaLaff I would definitely like to see VP Harris, an ex prosecutor, reinforce the message of jury of peers and innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt through due process. Need to see more of her.
