Here is the government's description of the "smoking gun"' audio recording. It's bad. It clearly shows mens rea for several of the charges and likely fulfills the actus reus for the espionage charges as well (insofar as the recording includes Trump disclosing information within the classified document(s)).
This is so unbelievably reckless. Trump really has no regard for US national security.
One clear theme of the indictment is that Trump was directly involved in the storage of document boxes, including making some of the most indefensible decisions about where and when those documents were stored at Mar-a-Lago.

OMFG!!! This is a charge unto itself. Trump confessed to the crime as he was completing it.
Notably, the above conversation allegedly occurred at Trump's Bedminster Club in NJ, as the indictment has moved on from incidents at Mar-a-Largo in FL.
So many of the incidents described in the indictment where Trump revealed classified information are part of him telling "war stories," to impress people. Not only is that a pathetic reason to abrogate national security protections - it likely illustrates that he constantly had to reassure his audiences that he was not a serial liar and could prove he was telling the truth by showing off the classified documents. Trump should never be allowed within 100 yards of a classified doc again.
The surest way to get a grand jury to indict you for obstruction is to hide documents requested by the grand jury and then falsely certify that you have returned all of the requested documents (this is the first paragraph of the 2 pages describing that Trump's defiance of and lying to the grand jury).

As I'm still recovering from surgery and can't keep typing, I'm going to take a break from this thread.

Attached: 2 images And we get a picture of these boxes on the ballroom stage (after descriptions of the parties and people through Mar-a-Lago). Nauta and others took the boxes from here, to the business center. Trump wanted them in the business center because they were "his papers." Source: Employees #1 and #2. The DOJ has text messages !!!! me πŸ˜‚ (a defense lawyer's nightmare) Unlike Nauta, they had the sense to cooperate. Wait OMG they put them in the SHOWER??? (#2) 9/

@coreyrayburnyung He's like one of those serial killers on Criminal Minds who desperately wants the FBI to catch him. "Why didn't you stop me?!?!?!"
@coreyrayburnyung i am most surprised by the fact that trump can read, and can do it willingly.
